BRIO Gives Notice to 12 White-Collar Staff
The Swedish toy company BRIO AB announced a new organisation in February 2005, as the company was divided into two business areas - BRIO and Scanditoys (the wholesale business).
Today, the County Employment Board in Malmö has been informed that the company intends to start negotiations with the trade unions, due to the reduced workload within administration. 12 white-collar staff at BRIO AB will be affected as the new organisation is being adjusted and administration is becoming more streamlined.
"BRIO is currently undergoing a change process where we are focusing on streamlining the organisation. We must continually watch our costs to reach a satisfactory profitability level," says Thomas Bräutigam, CEO of BRIO.
Negotiations with the union representatives at the company will start immediately.
The notice is estimated to have a positive effect on results during the second half of 2005.
