BRIO prize
Each year the Lennart Ivarsson Scholarship Fund awards an independent researcher or organisation for significant efforts in the area of play, toys and child development. The BRIO Prize for 2005 was awarded to Cleo Gougoulis, PhD of the Peloponnosian Folklore Foundation in Nafplion, Greece. In her studies Gougoulis found that children transfer their local and familial traditions onto globally manufactured toys. She goes on to show that they get so familial that they are passed on through generations. The Scholarship's Chairman, Dag Ivarsson, presented Ms. Gougoulis with the award at a ceremony in Osby on December 2, 2005.
